The original radio had survived this long, but time to bring up to spec. It also only had one speaker in the drivers door. Now it has one in each door. Talk about an improvement.
Mustangs are great, but the non-SHAKER model needed some BASS. 2 Hertz Cento 12″ in custom fibreglass enclosures powered by an Audison 500W amplifier did the trick. Hidden, Subtle, Tidy, and lots of punch.
Not even a screen in this Pajero. Non-Rockford too. Bye-bye. Hello Alpine iLX-509A 9″ tablet style. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Touchscreen…. just a few of the new features.
Sometimes, a little is enough. A set of Alpine SPJ 6×9’s fit the bill. Nice and snug in the tray, and removeable if extra cargo room is needed.
Surprisingly, the stock speaker is behind the black part. This had been previously replaced with a 6″, and it failed. This time, a DB Drive 6×9 was used. Once mounted correctly, the clock started working. 🙂
